Belarus plan to pass certification for Chinese market
Belarus intends to start supplying poultry to China by next summer, head of the main department for foreign economic affairs of the Agriculture and Food Ministry Aleksei Bogdanov told on August 8th. Belarus has substantially increased its shipments of dairy products to China and has gained certification to export beef, Bogdanov said. There are now plans to certify Belarus poultry exports to China.
Belarus delivered over $2 million worth of dairy products to China in 2017 and up to 72 times from the same period a year prior. Belarus has also been certified for exporting beef to China. Belarus is working on the organization of poultry supplies to China and there are plans to certify poultry exports which will fulfill the task by next summer.
The strategy to develop export for the next few years includes three main regions for Belarus, Southeast Asia with China, Vietnam, and Japan - which is the region number one. Then the Middle East Gulf states and followed by Africa. Europe is also viewed as a promising avenue due to the strong currency and high purchasing power, yet trade barriers do not allow large volumes of products to enter the European market. Belarus is also actively working on boosting the exports to the CIS member states
