Tyson Foods invest to expand
Tyson Foods, Inc. is investing 59.7 mill.USD for expansion of its distribution center in Pottsville, Pennsylvania with a move that will add jobs, improve efficiency and support the company’s future plans for growth.
The project, which will start this summer, includes construction of around 164,000-square foot in addition to the existing facilities in Pottsville. The distribution center currently serves retail and foodservice to the customers in the US Northeast region, including Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
The expansion of the distribution center is expected to be completed in late 2018 and will offer additional 114 jobs in Pottsville, so that the total employment at the site is then about 220 workers.
